Mitsuaki Takada
A Knife Craftsman in Sakai, Osaka JAPAN
Mitsuaki Takada founded TAKADA no HAMONO in 2018. He was working
for Ashi Hamono (Ashi Cutlery Works Co. Ltd.) for 14 years since 2004,
making mainly kitchen knives. He is multi-talented, with expertise
in areas ranging from cutlery making to DTP design. His private brand,
Mitsuaki-T*was established in 2008, and through that he has started
introducing original hand-made crafts, mainly paper knives.
The brand concept is
multi-sided. This is expressed through his choice
in logos - it looks like the star or the sun... it could also look like flower
or leaf. He is passionate about creating pieces that give happiness to
those around them. With this multi-sided philosophy in mind he not
only focuses on making of the blade (forging and sharpening), but also
on woodwork, leather crafts, stitching, and DTP to compliment his knives.
